• Happy mother’s day!   Don’t forget to bring mom to church and take her to lunch on Sunday.  We are going to have a great day of worship, and a message that is not just for mom. 

• The south Texas Blood & Tissue Center will have a bus at church on June 10th from 8:30-1:00 so we can all give the important gift of blood.  (sounds kind of weird, but it is super important)  Sign up this week in the hall! 

• It was great going to the Church Under the Bridge last Sunday.  Thanks to everyone that went along, and thanks to everyone who brought jeans (we ended up with around 300 pair!)  God is doing great stuff down there.  Pray about how we might get more involved.  Maybe we should send a team (around 8-10 people) down there every month or so to serve, help and cleanup????

Hi everyone!

Subliminal advertising is an immoral, unethical way BRING JEANS to get people to buy your products BRING JEANS by discreetly inserting words BRING JEANS into movies, etc. Please pray for the unethical BRING JEANS heathens who would resort to such cheap tactics just to sell a product BRING JEANS.  They obviously BRING JEANS have issues and need Jesus. 

On a completely seperate issue: This Sunday at 4:30 I am going to leave CBCB to drive down to the grand opening service of the Church under the Bridge.  I hope you will come with me to help them celebrate their new facility. We are also taking a bunch of socks, underwear, etc AND we are collecting new and used MENS jeans to take. My goal is to take 200 pair of jeans and we are a good 1/2 way there. PLEASE bring an extra pair of jeans to church on Sunday that we can take to help some of our brothers who are in real need.            

A lot of people have been asking about church membership.  We have a connection party scheduled on July 8.  That is where we’ll explain our history and our vision; try to answer any questions and help you decide if membership at CBCB is right for you.  You’ll get to meet some of our leadership – we’ll even feed you lunch! Just sign up on the connection card this week. 

This Sunday is the last week of the “Faith Like a Child” series.  We’ll see what kids can teach us about our relationship with our Father.

Hey Everyone,

A couple of thoughts:

1. If you are a volunteer, PLEASE come to the volunteer appreciation picnic Sat from 11-4 at Rivermont park. It’s on Spring Branch Road; we’ll have balloons out there to mark it. No real agenda, let’s just enjoy some food, and great friends.  Bring your family.                             
2. Last week we talked a little about sharing our stuff. A couple of people approached me to say they have some stuff to share with anyone who’d benefit from it.  John Foster 210-478-8188 has living room furniture and décor items, a nice refrigerator, ping pong table, and TV. Casey Cadenhead 210-228-0424 has a walk in bathtub –perfect for anyone with mobility issues. If you need one of these things – these folks are ready to SHARE THEIR STUFF!
3. Church Under the Bridge is a great church that holds services, and gives away food and clothes to the homeless in the downtown area. They are having a grand opening of their new facility on May 6^th at 6 pm. I am going, and I’d love you to come if you can. BUT I don’t want to go empty-handed.   Today we bought hundreds of pairs of socks and underwear to take. The item that is really like GOLD to them is jeans. SO in the next two Sundays I want to see if we can collect 200 pairs of jeans to take down there. They don’t have to be new. (You know those jeans in your closet that are too small, that you’ve been saving in case you lose weight? – It’s time to live in the now.)  Bring them to church and we’ll share them with someone who really needs them in Jesus’ name.

This Sunday we’ll look at another aspect of our Christian journey that we can learn about through children: our attitude.
